~ BOWLING~

All NGA retirees are welcomed to join

Arsenal Mixed League Sunset Lanes.

The Arsenal Mixed-League started its 2011-2012 season for the first time at SUNSET LANES on Tuesday September 6, 2011 at 4 PM. We now have a full eight- team league with 35 bowlers. The Rollercoasters team of Ruth Walters, Karen Edgar, Ernie South and Denny Dummeyer won the first half. Everyone does appreciate the consistent lane conditions and is adjusting their mechanics to find the best shot. Ron Lindy continues to lead the men with a 194 average with five others in the 180’s. Debra Neustadt leads the women with a 180 average with three others in the 160’s. Fab Four teammates Lisa Deen and Debra Neustadt are doing well. Lisa leads the high single game category with a 223 score and Debra Neustadt leads the scratch series with 633 pins. Paul Estes has the high single game of 285 and Brian Baumgarner has the high scratch series of 710 for the men. If you are still working at NGA, or of NGA legacy, and interested in bowling in this league for the rest of the 2011-2012 season at Sunset Lanes, contact Pat Wiese,314 385-7845

Thursday Invitational League- Sunset Lanes

The NGA Thursday Invitational Bowling League finished its first half activity on 22 December 2011. Out of nowhere came a team that no one was betting on to win the first half, the Bushcruddogs. This team has masqueraded under several names in the past and after an extensive interview with one of its mainstays on the 9th of February it was determined that the name was arrived at through no particular logic. Perhaps the selection of the name had something to do with their amazing upward journey to the top through the other 11 teams in the league. Whatever the reason, Mike Qualls, Ralph Wolf, Kyle Olsen and Clarence (Junior) Jasper are to be congratulated for their fine efforts and for the rest of the season this collection of bowlers will be targeted by the remaining 44 bowlers in the league. Good luck to you, Bushcruddogs! The league continues to have fun and to experiment on the ten pins, where fifteen have averages over 200, at Sunset Lanes every Thursday at 4:00PM. Come see your fellow workers/retirees. As always, if you care to see some old faces, and even some unfamiliar ones, please stop by Sunset Lanes on Watson Road. This is good clean fun and the weather is very decent in the building. We hope to see you there. The league President, Harry Lemakis (314- 631-1619), and the Secretary, Wayne Powers encourage anyone still working at NGA, or of NGA legacy to find out more about joining in the fun. You can contact Wayne at Wayne.D.Powers@nga.mil
