Another wonderful day for golf and another wonderful golf course – at least in my mind. Wolf Hollow is probably the top of my list of favorites. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea but I think it’s one of the best in the area, certainly in terms of price for what you get. This is not your ordinary cookie cutter course where several holes are alike and only an occasional water hazard creates havoc with your game. This course has some holes made for men and they can truly test your abilities to the utmost. In many cases just getting to the green can be a real chore and once you’re there the greens present a whole new ungodly challenge. One rule of thumb on this course is you have to be below the hole. Naturally this makes for an intelligent plan, but as we’ve come to expect, plans are made to be broken. It’s not nice to see grown men cry but some of the putting results certainly brought tears to some eyes today.

The course was in excellent shape and even though the lay of the greens is normally treacherous, their condition was very good. For a greens fee of $21 this is one heckuva bargain and a place I’d recommend to any golfer in the St. Louis area. Today we fielded 97 players for our annual trip to Wolf Hollow and seemingly everyone enjoyed the outing.
